Growing up, I always knew that my mother wanted me to live a life with more opportunities than she had, and to be more successful. My mother had always told me, “It’s not how you start, it’s just how you finish.” My journey of education had a rough start. In my early years of grammar school and middle school, my teachers doubted my knowledge and wanted me to repeat a grade. At times, I see a “rough start” as a good sign. Rough starts in my life have been an element that has built my character.
I have been blessed enough to go through challenges. The challenges provide proof that I am never alone. Every roadblock, every obstacle there was someone or something to propel me to the finish line.
My financial aid package is great, but I am short. A marathon is 26.2 miles. I am at that 25th mile. There is a deficit. My scholarship does not cover books, room, and board. I need your help to get to the finish line. Your contributions would cover my very first year at Juniata College. These funds are needed for Fall and Spring Semesters.
It is not how you start, it's how you finish. This is the start of my college marathon. The beginning of my promises. I am asking for your help. This will not only help pay for college, but it will give a bright future. A future without debts, doubts, delays, and denials. Thank you for your support.
