Get Nathan to the Silat World Championships

This year my dreams came true when I was selected to represent the UK in the Pencak Silat World Championship martial arts competition in Malaysia.

For those who don’t know, Silat is a martial art that originates in Indonesia and is very popular in South East Asia. Yet, in the UK it is still in its inception and is not a funded sport. This

means that for practitioners in the UK we have to self-fund our way to important competitions such as these.

I have been training in the art for several years now, whilst working part time to make ends meet, and will have to self-fund my journey, accommodation and training camp in Malaysia ahead of the tournament.

I am currently aiming to raise £1,500, which will go towards flight tickets and accommodation costs.
