3 Years ago, Marek was only skating 3hrs a week and somehow managed to get into a national competition. He could turn a triple but it felt like he didn’t belong among the skaters there. He didn’t really know what he was doing but all he had a dream and knew he loved skating and thought he could bring himself to a higher level. He decided to jump into his skating career full time with no certainty it would bring anything let alone if he could afford rent.

Fast forward to today (omitting hardships), this is a testament to the hardwork we often undermine. There is no fairy tale, there’s no romanticising of “dreams come true”. There’s talent involved, there’s work ethic, and it’s being invested in yourself. Thanks for everyone riding on this train with him. Next objective: 2020 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships.
