Over the past several years my mom has dedicated her life to rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters throughout Southern California and Mexico. Since starting, she’s put nearly 600,000 miles on her van and has helped transport over 8,000 dogs and counting.
The van has become more than just a vehicle, it’s a lifeline for these animals. When they step into her van, their luck finally changes. They’re headed toward a second chance and the forever home they deserve.
My mom’s life purpose has become rescuing dogs — no matter how big or small they are, where they’ve come from, or what their baggage may be. She takes them wherever they need to go, because every dog deserves a family, a warm bed, and a forever home. At the other end of my mom’s long trips there are families, fosters, and rescue groups waiting with open arms.
Unfortunately, on her last trip coming down from Washington, her van blew a head gasket and had to be towed home. With nearly 600,000 miles on it, the damage was beyond repair. This is the first time in six years she has had to slow down, and it’s been hard on her not being able to help dogs the way she was before.
Our hope is to raise enough for a reliable van so she can continue this mission. Every mile she drives, every dog she rescues, is possible because of people who believe in her work. With your support, she can keep giving dogs the second chance they deserve.
I just want to say thank you for listening. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this would do wonders for her. Thank you in advance for your time and support, it means a lot to my mom and I.
