Malmö Limelight Chorus är en kör med hjärta, närvaro och ett unikt sound - vi bjuder på högklassig fyrstämmig a cappella-sång med barbershopklang och känsla kombinerat med varm gemenskap och skratt. Vi tror också på att barbershop ska vara en hobby för alla, och att ekonomiska hinder kan tacklas gemensamt och solidariskt. Alla medlemmar har i dagsläget inte ekonomisk möjlighet att följa med till VM i Louisville, vilket är varför vi väljer att vända oss till er!
I oktober 2023 går VM i barbershop av stapeln i Louisville, Kentucky. Den 7:e maj 2022 ställde vi oss på scenen i Nordiska Mästerskapen i Helsingborg och sjöng ihop 617 poäng - tillräckligt för att vinna kategorin Midsize Chorus och också kvalificera oss till de internationella tävlingarna i Louisville! Nu söker vi stöd från er för att säkra att samtliga medlemmar har råd med resan!
Eftersom alla våra medlemmar satsar på den här hobbyn helt ideellt, är det inte konstigt att förutsättningarna för en resa till USA skiljer sig inom kören. Det är långt till Kentucky från Malmö, och det är en stor summa pengar varje medlem behöver betala ur egen ficka för att göra det möjligt. Vi hoppas att den här insamlingen ska bidra till att jämna ut förutsättningarna genom att ge dem som behöver stöd en pott att få bidrag ur. Kanske är du ett barbershopfan som vill ge någon annan möjlighet att uppleva den internationella barbershopbubblan? Kanske känner du någon i kören och vill stötta oss i det här projektet? Kanske har du sett oss på något gig och vill bidra till vår VM-dröm?
Vi välkomnar alla bidrag, stora som små, och garanterar att alla donationer går oavkortat till att möjliggöra alla MLC-medlemmars resa till VM!

This female choir entertains through high-class 4-part a capella harmonies with the unique sound of the barbershop ring. The singing and drive to develop, in combination with a warm and joyful environment, make Malmö Limelight the ideal community to be part of. We believe barbershop should be for everyone and that financial obstacles can be tackled together in solidarity.
In October 2023, the Sweet Adelines International´s competition in barbershop, equivalent to the world cup, will take place in Louisville, Kentucky. Malmö Limelight Chorus has qualified as one of the competitors by scoring enough points (617 points) at the Nordic Championships in Helsingborg on the 7th of May, 2022. Now we are looking for your support to ensure that all our members can afford the trip!
All members invest in this hobby entirely on a non-profit basis, and the financial situation differs within the choir. It's quite a distance from Malmö, Sweden, to Louisville, Kentucky, and it will be a large sum of money each member has to pay out of her own pocket! This fundraiser will hopefully contribute to leveling the playing field by helping those in need of financial support. Maybe you are a barbershop fan who wants to give someone else the opportunity to experience the international stage? Perhaps you know someone in the chorus and want to support us in this project? Maybe you've seen us at a gig and want to contribute to our world cup dream?
