Many of you have been following and supporting Miriam on her journey to recovery from the beginning.   Many of you may be new to Miriam.   When Miriam was 6 years old she was diagnosed with cancer and beat it.  The tumor caused a spinal cord injury and she has been fighting to walk again overcoming every statistic she faced.   

In previous years, your support has enabled Miriam to come out on top.  We started off the year with amazing progress.  For the first time, Miriam got a muscle contraction in her legs from external electrical stim.  It is a specialized device designed for neurological injuries similar to Miriam.   

Miriam has now set a goal for herself.  She has braces that enable her to stand and walk.  It is not uncommon for her brothers to find her at all hours in her braces, practicing to stand and take steps.  Miriam wants to develop the strength and stamina to community walk and leave her wheelchair behind.   

Unfortunately, though insurance does not cover Miriam's ongoing therapy.   Due to the lack of funds we owe Miriam’s therapist and have had to temporarily suspend therapy.

We need to get Miriam back in therapy and it has to happen now!!
