Get Mike Hale (Storm) Home & Laid to Rest

On the night of Monday April 5th, I received a late night call that shattered a number of people's worlds. The world had lost a truly amazing, selfless, and humble man. Our friend Mike Hale was taken from us suddenly and without warning. Many of us had just been talking to him that afternoon.
Mike (Storm on ASMDSS) was a former Marine who has been a part of the ASMDSS Team almost since its inception in early 2013. Over the years Mike has put every ounce of time and energy he had to give into helping other Warfighters, and was always there for us when we needed him (and even when we didn't know we did).
Mike's mission in life was to help others and give back to the community. Life kept giving him one shit sandwich after another, to include losing his foot and then his leg, but throughout all of it he stayed 100% focused on giving back and helping other people any way he could. It was his absolute mission in life. He has been there for me and other Admins time and time again as we all work our way through life on this earth.
He kept thousands of people entertained through posts, comments, and his ever present quick wit. Often making people laugh when they thought there was no way they could fight through their suffering.
His passing leaves a gaping hole in the lives of all who knew him. He never wanted recognition, was fine with people not knowing his name, but with his passing I wanted to memorialize his contributions to the community.
We are asking for those that are able to make a donation to help cover the expense for his Dad Kenneth get his body home to NY, and ensure he is memorialized and laid to rest with the respect and dignity that a man who spent his life giving to others deserves. I am kicking the campaign of with a donation of $1,000. All funds not directly used to cover funeral costs will be donated to a 501(c)3 NonProfit that supports veterans and their families.
In addition, raise a glass of your favorite beverage tonight in honor of the man, and the legend that Mike was in the Warfighter community.
