*URGENT MUST EXIT SHELTER BY TUESDAY AM* Unfortunately, Mika’s hero did not come on Sunday, 9/7, but she still has Monday to be fostered or rescued. I am pledging money to a reputable rescue to take her and would so much appreciate any support; anything at all helps.

Mika needs a hero. This sweet 3-year-old girl is having a very hard time in the shelter. She's scared and overwhelmed in such a stressful environment. Sadly, she was surrendered just four weeks ago because her owner "had no time" for her.

Although timid in her new scary reality, Mika is food-motivated and will approach if you have a treat. She already knows "sit" and "shake," but she startles if people move too quickly. In playgroups, she has been tolerant with other dogs and seems to find comfort in their presence. She would do well with another dog her size in the home.

The first time I took her out, she walked alongside another shy dog, relaxed enough to sniff and explore—and even leaned into me for love and pets.

Mika walks well on a leash and enjoys following her person. She'll thrive with an experienced adopter who understands fearful dogs and can give her patience, space, and time to feel secure.
