In 2023, Mick and Viv had finally retired, and had moved to Scarborough to live out their retirement. Unfortunately, within 6 months, Mick suffered a stroke that caused a bleed in his brain, when this occurred, he fought for his life and came out the other side with half of his body paralysed, making him virtually bed-bound.

Mick has done an amazing job at recovering to the best of his ability, making it possible for him to attend his daughter, Emma’s wedding in May 2025, as well as being able to take part in Viv (his wife’s) amazing barbecues in the back garden of their home.

The reason we have created this GoFundMe is so that Mick can visit his dream location and hopefully reside there for as long as possible, Scarborough. Currently, him and Viv own a caravan there, however it is not possible for him to stay there currently, due to his medical needs.

Viv is asking for people to give out of the kindness of their hearts, if possible, so we can get Mick back to Scarborough to enjoy the sea and sun again. With Viv being his full-time carer, she would stay with Mick when in Scarborough, therefore making it possible for them to live out their retirement, even if not exactly as planned.

Any proceeds will go towards making the caravan safe and liveable for Mick himself.
