Get Mick Moving - new double amputee in Lucan

Hi everyone, our Dad, Michael Monahan affectionately known as Mick or Grandad Buttons, having recently undergone a single leg amputation has now received news that he will lose his other leg too in the coming weeks.

Mick battled and beat cancer in 2010, underwent a triple heart bypass 2020 and is now facing into 2024 as a fulltime wheelchair user and double amputee.

Prior to his surgery, Mick enjoyed cycling and loved his Pitch & Putt. We are heartbroken that he won't be able to enjoy these activities anymore.

We as a family are devastated with this news but we want to give our Dad the best chance to live a full and happy life regardless of his new limitations.

A lot of changes are now needed for Mick to adapt to a new way of living and we want to give him the best possible chance to live life to the fullest.

Everyone who knows Mick loves him, he is a gentleman who has a smile for everyone and is always happy to help others out.
