Help Michael Finish His Journey to Becoming a Doctor ❤️

I never imagined I would be creating a GoFundMe. I’ve always been the person on the other side of the screen—donating to friends’ fundraisers, supporting fundraisers for their children, and helping whenever I could. I never thought I would be the one asking others for help. But today, I’m asking for support for someone who means the absolute world to me, Michael.

Michael is currently in his fourth year of medical school, and he has worked incredibly hard to get to this point. He has dedicated years of his life to studying, training, sacrificing time with family and friends, and pursuing his dream of becoming a doctor. He is now so close to the finish line.

His fourth year is especially important because he is required to travel to different hospitals to complete four-week electives. These rotations are an essential part of his journey toward securing a residency program and, ultimately, beginning his career as a physician.

This year, Michael will be completing four electives on the East Coast, which means traveling from hospital to hospital and covering expenses that quickly add up—hotels and Airbnb stays, rental cars, gas, food, and other travel costs. These are expenses that we will have to pay out of pocket.

On top of that, we are facing another major financial challenge. Michael’s final two semesters—winter and spring—will no longer be covered through the student loans we have relied on throughout medical school. Because of changes resulting from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), we will need to explore private student loans to cover the remaining cost of his education, and there is no guarantee that we will qualify.

After everything Michael has already sacrificed to get here, the thought of him having to struggle to finish medical school because of finances is heartbreaking.

He has come too far to let financial circumstances stand between him and the career he has worked so hard for.

That’s why I’m asking for help.

Any donation—no matter how big or small—will help us with the costs of completing Michael’s final year of medical school and traveling to his required hospital electives. If you’re able to donate, you’re not just helping with a hotel room or a rental car. You’re helping someone finish the dream he has spent years working toward.

I know there are so many people and causes that need help, and I don’t take it lightly to ask for support. Creating this fundraiser was not an easy decision for me. But Michael has worked so incredibly hard for this. I have watched him dedicate so much of his life to his education and his dream of becoming a doctor, and I truly believe he deserves the chance to finish what he started.

He has made it this far. We just need a little help getting him across the finish line. ❤️
