Hi there! I'm Chrissie, and I couldn't be prouder to introduce my amazing niece, Mia. I'm on a mission to raise funds to help her achieve her dream of representing Queensland at the National Water Polo Development Carnival in Hobart next month.
Mia is an exceptional athlete who's been making waves in water polo! Over the past year, she's participated in countless competitions, excelling in various age groups and clubs. She plays for teams like Wolves, Noosa, and Sunshine Coast in the u12, u14, u15, and u16 categories. Her outstanding skills often see her drafted to play for other clubs too!
Check out some of her recent achievements:
• Winter Slam (2024): u12 GOLD and u14 SILVER
• Junior Countries (2023): u12 BRONZE
• Junior School Competition (2024): u12 GOLD playing for Kawana State School
• States and Australian Youth Champs (2023/2024): u12 and u13
• Australian Youth Champs (2025): u13
Mia also took part in the Junior Countries u14 and u16 age groups in December 2024 on the Gold Coast. For the past 12 weeks, she's been competing in the Brisbane competition for the u12, u14, and u15 age groups for Sunshine Coast, where she's been the top goal scorer.
Mia proudly sports cap number 8 or cap 13, continuing a family tradition upheld by her grandfather, father, sister, and brother, all of whom have played water polo for years. The number 13 is a clever nod to the family tradition since squishing the digits together forms an 8.
Mia has recently reach her aspirations of playing in Perth for the Australian Youth Championships (AYC). She was drafted by Good Shepherd to play for their under 15 team and is currently their top goal scorer.
Mia goal is to play water polo for Australia in the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane. Thank you for helping in her journey towards her dream.
