Get Melissa Back on her FEET

Nobody could have imagined that taking your son out for a hike would land you in the hospital with an unknown release date.

On Sunday, April 3rd Melissa was out hiking on the trails of Lake De Valle and was bitten twice by a rattlesnake. Thankful it was her and not her son Lucas, she couldn’t have imagined what was in store. She was transported to Valley Care Medical Center and in the ICU for 2 days and then transported to John Muir where she remains currently with no release date as of this time. Things were looking up, and she thought she would be going home Sunday 4/10. Instead things got worse and she ended up needing more vials of anti-venom. She has received a total of 44 vials. Now she is battling the side effects of severe headaches and nausea because of the anti-venom, to add to her bite complications.

With the unknown of returning to even the simple daily simple functions we take for granted, the unknown about her return to work date is even more stressful. Melissa is one who has ALWAYS done so much for others. If we can all just return the favor and chip in to help ease her mind as we know CA SDI is so backlogged and will not be the same as her wages from work. If we can help get her going and ease her mind and let her focus on her recovery and rehab, as a mom I know it would mean the world!
