Help me get my Guide dog!
Donation protected
I find it challenging to ask for help, but her goes nothing. Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the tender age of three and a half, I’ve spent 35 years battling this relentless illness. Now, it’s taking a toll I never anticipated: I am losing my vision. Cooking has been my passion and profession for the last 18 years, working in some of the finest restaurants in the Boston area. It’s this passion that brings me to seek your support today.
The combination of low wages, long hours, and limited access to benefits has left me in a precarious situation. Covering rent, utilities, Diabetes Management supplies, and the expenses of raising a highly trained guide dog has become an impossible balancing act. Each month, I’m forced to make a heart-wrenching decision—pick only two of these essential expenses, knowing well the others will go unmet. This includes the cost of getting and owning a Guide Dog, which is essential for maintaining my independence and safety.
I’ve never felt more vulnerable asking for help, but the reality is that I need it more than ever. Thank you deeply for taking the time to read my story. Any contribution you can make will provide immense relief and support during this challenging time in my life. If you are not in a place to donate another fantastic way to help is to share this as much as possible! With your help, I can take great strides toward health and happiness!
