Get Max to California

As you may or may not be aware, I am godmother to an almost 3 year old little boy called Max.

Max was born 11 weeks early and has had a really tough start to life. He had bleeds on his brain due to his prematurity and these led to cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus as well as moderate-severe hearing loss for which he has hearing aids. Max has had a number of surgeries including one on his brain.

Max’s mam and dad, Vicki and Chris, try to give Max the best chance possible to live a near-normal life despite his disabilities. Max goes to lots of private therapies that they have to pay for and most recently, he was lucky enough to have one session with a practitioner who specialises in therapy to re-wire the brain and hopefully help Max learn to sit, walk and talk, among other things. The practitioner’s name is Anat Baniel and she invented a therapy called ABM NeuroMovement and it has so far worked wonders for Max. After working with Anat for one session in London (the first and only time she has ever visited the UK), Max was given the opportunity to travel to California to spend 3 weeks working with Anat and her team. The results from working with her for just one session have been phenomenal and this is a fantastic opportunity for Max to hopefully achieve even more and reach his full potential, despite the extensive damage to his brain.

Max’s family have to raise £20000 in order to take him on what will hopefully be a life changing trip to California in June 2024. They are doing lots of fundraising for it and as a result I have decided to do my own sponsored event for Max.

My challenge is to climb Roseberry topping for 12 hours straight, I will push my body to its limits to help get this little boy to California,
