Max was born on 7th November 2016.  Although he was born prematurely shortly after he was born we realised he had much more obstacles to face rather than just being early. 

Max has quadriplegic (meaning all 4 limbs) cerebral palsy, septo optic dysplasia, an insufficient suck and swallow meaning he is tube fed, and requires regular suctioning to keep his airway clear, he has global developmental delay plus an unknown genetic condition otherwise known as a SWAN (syndrome without a name).

Max has had to face so many challenges in his short life, and a lot of this time has been in and out of hospital with illness and infections. Being unable to swallow properly makes him susceptible to chest infections and he has had his fair share in his short life. This also means max gets very little enjoyment orally as he is not allowed any food or treats through risk of aspiration. Although we have had good care through the NHS currently we are at a stand still as to what to do next to help max. 

I would like to take max to Glasgow to enroll into ABR therapy
This therapy is different to standard programs as it works on connective tissues and focuses a program individual to your child. They have had success with children regaining a swallow, weight gain, improved heath as well as improvement in moving and ability. However this comes at a cost and the basic yearly program costs £5610.00 a year plus an additional £250 assessment plus flights and travel insurance to glasgow. 

As a family we try our hardest to provide everything we possibly can for max to achieve the most from his life but currently this is out of our reach.
