Get MANIC PIXIE NIGHTMARE to WTFringe 2023!

MANIC PIXIE NIGHTMARE by Kimi Handa Brown first premiered at the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival in 2021. Since then it has been adapted into a short film, premiered in New York City with a reading this Spring, and is traveling to North Carolina this summer for a full production at the 2023 National Women's Theatre Festival Fringe.

MANIC PIXIE NIGHTMARE is a play exploring societal gender norms that have been celebrated through film tropes and how they play into our everyday lives and immediate relationships. We are excited to bring this work to a wider range of audiences that center bipoc, queer, women, trans, and nonbinary people who have had increased exposure to the harms of these specific gendered stereotypes to provide tools of empowerment to break out of them.

Our team consists of creator and performer Kimi Handa Brown, director Sophie Sam, and producer Jae Weit. We are joined for this production by actors Yessenia Rivas and William Phelps. All funds raised will cover the costs of rehearsal, production, travel, and artist fees. Please consider supporting us on this journey and hopefully the many to follow!
