Hello, I’m Cody Walker at eXp Realty in Denver, CO and I’m fundraising for my executive assistant, Jenifer, who’s based in the Philippines.

We brought Jen onto our team almost two years ago through Sphere Rocket and knew there was something special about her immediately. While she didn’t have any experience in what we needed her to do, she was passionate about learning and being apart of something bigger than herself for the first time in her career. Mama Jen as she’s known to many, has been the best team member we could ask for. She holds herself accountable, she asks insightful questions and cares about our clients, and she gets work done without being asked. She’s truly the most loyal person we could have imagined being on our team and hope to keep her with us forever. We really love her in our lives.

When we first met her, she told us she had Lupus and that is was a part of her life in a big way but it wasn’t active as of now with major flares. She pushes through, and works her butt off without making it an excuse for anything. We knew there would be challenges as a single mom fighting for a better future for her and her kids, but we were there to make it happen.

Just recently before the Sphere Rocket event she was asked to attend and to speak on stage to everyone about her experience working with us which is a big honor for her to do. She unfortunately found herself in the hospital when her lupus flared up and started to affect her kidney function and other general function. With a speech ready, she still made the event but was unable to stand and share her story which was very sad. Just a week later her condition has worsened and she is now in the hospital needing immediate help with her medical bills to proceed into the next level of care and ongoing medication which is about 75% of her weekly pay, just to stay alive. The healthcare system where she lives is not supportive of the wages and cost of living.

We’re asking our Sphere Rocket community, Realtor community, and friends and family to help us assist her and her family with medical bills as she’s in the emergency room now and can’t seek further treatment without an initial large bill being paid, followed by who knows how much when she’s moved in for further treatment. Just the first night was almost $2000 USD in the emergency room and two medicines to keep her alive are nearly $800 USD per month.

We’re working to support her and we’re paying her while she’s out of work, but she will be out of work for a while likely and will need major medical care plus medications with an outrageous expense. To all of our business owner friends, friends, family, Jen and her babies could really use your help even to just hit our base goal so they can worry about their mama and not the substantial bills coming their way that they don’t have the money for.
