Get Lochlann moving

Lochlann had a near drowning accident in 2010 when he was 18 months old. We were very lucky that he survived but we were told that he is blind, deaf, will never speak or walk and that his memory is severely affected as well which means he would be learning disabled. With the help of the Family Hope center Lochlann has progressed immensely though. Lochlann is neither blind nor deaf and his memory works fine. His fine motor skills at his last appointment were so good that he was able to tell one side of a coin from the other be feeling it. Lochlann has great social skills and a brilliant sense of humour. Now we want to master the last hurdle and get Lochlann walking and talking again. The Family Hope Center developed a state of the art programme specially developed for brain injuries and they have huge experience with kids like Lochlann. They train the parents to do a programme with the kids that is specially formulated for each child individually. We do the programme at home and ideally revisit the Family Hope Center every six months for reassessment. The programme is then changed according to the progress in the child. Unfortunately nothing even similar is currently available here and the appointments with the Family Hope Center are not covered by health insurance or the health board in Ireland. Therefore we need to ask for help to get our amazing boy better again. Everytime we miss an appointment it makes it harder for us to do the treatment with him because the more he is growing the harder it is to do the exercises. Last summer we brought Lochlann to Pensylvania to get the ligaments in his legs released so he would actually have the needed range of motion to learn how to belly crawl. To achieve this is the next goal and we are working very hard towards this. The surgery was very successful and Lochlann is back in his standing frame. This is very important to keep his range of motion and also his bones healthy. Please help us rause the nessessary funds to see the family hope center when they nexf visit Ireland in April. Every euro counts. Thank you very much. www.facebook.com/TheLochlannDoyleFund
