Get Limelight to Barbershop Internationals!

Hello there! We are Limelight, the 2022 British Association of Barbershop Singers National Gold Medalist Quartet.

Limelight was first formed by four friends in 2019 when we had our first ever rehearsal in Luke’s mum’s living room in Liverpool. It was not very long before the first ever rehearsal was cut short as the next door neighbour to the lovely semi-detached house complained about the noise. (We think he must feel embarrassed now he knows we are national champions…) Barbershop was then put on hold for over a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but in the first ever convention we attended, Limelight won the national contest! This result was so unexpected for us that as the the result was announced, our faces immediately turned a similar shade of white as trademark suit jackets and Facebook comments suggested we “looked like we had just been in a car crash”. Thanks for that Martin.

We have now been invited to represent the British Association of Barbershop Singers over in the USA at the 2023 international Barbershop Harmony Society convention in Louisville, Kentucky. We think this is really cool. So many of our heroes have walked across this stage and to think this is now our turn is a bit of a dream come true!

This trip can get quite expensive for four of us including flights/travel, accommodation, convention ticket passes as well as living costs whilst we are over there.

We thank you wholeheartedly and hope to do you (and our mums) proud by performing as best we can on the world stage and hopefully stealing our fair share of the “Limelight”!
