Get Leslie Back on the Road After 2 Years!

Hi! My name is Leslie of the Pittsburgh small, sustainable embroidery business, Les Is More 894. Almost two years ago, my car was totaled in an accident from an elderly person with Alzheimer’s who should not have been driving (everyone was okay!). From that, I have not been able to apply for a loan for a new vehicle as this happened at the same time my student loans got out of deferment, ruining my DTI. I have been using public transit, rental cars, and borrowed cars of friends in the interim, but as a small business and artist that needs transportation to events and exhibitions, I have become very limited in what I can do. As my business grows, it has become evident that having no vehicle has become a detriment. I have had to cancel shows and events because I do not have a car.

But now, a wonderful opportunity to own a used, affordable vehicle from someone in the community has come up and I’m almost at the goal amount, but could use some help!

These costs would help me pay the remaining amount that I would owe the person as well as covering the change of title, etc.

My goals beyond having a vehicle to go to events would be to also have a textile pickup aspect to my business where I can pick up unwanted textiles from folks who can’t make it to reuse centers or thrift stores, half of them going to those places while the other half can be reused by me to create my art!

Beyond business, I would love to be able to drive to work, grocery stores, etc. also visit friends in and out of state.
