Get Lawrence Back on His Feet!

Dear Playhouse family.

This campaign is to help Lawrence Mazza, a dedicated Gold Star Performer of our Playhouse. Known onstage for roles like Gaston in 2017's Beauty and the Beast and Josh in Tony Macaulay's Build Me Up Buttercup, Lawrence has been a treasured member of our Playhouse family for over 14 years. He has served as Stage Manager for some of our most difficult productions such as Mary Poppins, Fly Gallery Operator, Box Office Attendant, and assisting with our STARS of Tomorrow Youth Program and our Summer Musical Theatre projects.

For the last 3 years Lawrence has lived and worked in New York. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic, Lawrence decided to relocate to Florida to return to the Playhouse as a member of our production team. Lawrence will graduate with his bachelor's degree this summer and then plans to continue to earn a master's degree through the University of Central Florida and eventually work as an Editor.

All of his plans have been interrupted due to a traumatic accident that crushed 24 of the 26 bones in his left foot the day before starting our technical rehearsals for our recent production of Holiday Inn. Between the Emergency Room Bill, the surgeon's bill, the surgery rental fee, and the anesthesiologist bill, he has incurred over $9,400 in medical costs that are not covered by insurance. As he is unable to walk or put any weight on his foot for a minimum of four months, he is not able to work and is relying on his mother to care for him. He was slated to create the combat choreography for our upcoming production of West Side Story and continue operating our Fly Gallery system for the remainder of our season, as well as, continue his work as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Since he is unable to stand for at least four months, his sources of income have stopped. Despite this trauma, Lawrence continued his university enrollment and completed this semester online maintaining 4.0 GPA. Please help Lawrence by joining our campaign to help pay for his medical costs until he is able to walk again and help him get back on his feet!
