In Feb 2022, Lauren’s world changed when a wall collapsed on her. The injuries would lead to a lower left leg amputation.
As a sporty person, by job and choice, Lauren was absolutely devastated. She was just a couple of weeks away from her umpiring assessment which had already been delayed by covid, was due to start a coaching qualification and thought she would never play again.
Coming out of hospital, Lauren went on to do her coaching qualification, attending practicals in her wheelchair before she got her first NHS prosthetic.
Since getting the first prosthetic, she has pushed and pushed determined to get back to umpiring & playing. The only thing now stopping her is her prosthetic.
A running blade is the missing puzzle piece to get Lauren moving and help her on her journey back to court.
With a blade costing around £2k-3k and a socket approx £5k plus we have set a target at £7k to hopefully cover the cost of both of those. Any funds above this will help go towards appointments for fittings, etc.
Anything you can give no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated. I know Lauren knows alot of people and alot of people will know her story so please show your support!
