Hi, my name is Laura and I have been selected to represent Team England at the first ever Women’s Box Lacrosse World Championships this September in Utica, NY!!
Box Lacrosse is a self-funded sport, without any government or national lottery support. Playing at a national level is therefore a big personal commitment. All of our training, kit, flights, expenses out in America, etc. are covered by us, the players. At the minute, the overall cost for attending the World Championships is £4000 each. Although we are looking for team sponsorship to support the wider program, any donations are really appreciated in supporting me personally.
Box lacrosse creates an equal playing field for the men and the women where we can all enjoy the same rules. It is a full contact game, played indoors, 6v6, with full padding. This is an incredibly quick, exciting version of lacrosse too play and watch. To now have the same opportunity as the men to play on the World Stage in an England Shirt is going to be a very special experience.
Thank you very much in advance for the help in supporting my World Cup journey!
