Hi everyone,
Can you help bring Khon back home by air ambulance transfer from Dubai.
We are asking for your help to raise the funds needed to fly our brother back home to the UK, where he can receive the specialist treatment he urgently needs from his own medical team in order to save his life. Being around family and friends is essential for his recovery, and bringing him home safely is now our only priority.
Khon was on holiday in Dubai with his sister and niece when he suddenly became very ill and was found vomiting blood in his hotel room. Khon has been living with an autoimmune disease since the age of 14 and had several other health conditions, including psoriasis which has impacted his eyes causing partially blindness, meaning he can only travel with supervision. He had been due to fly home the following day, but his condition quickly worsened and he was admitted to the ICU, where he has remained in critical condition ever since. Doctors later discovered that his liver is severely damaged, and because of his autoimmune disease his recovery has been much slower and more complicated. Over the past few weeks he has also developed pneumonia and has required a ventilator to support his breathing, making his situation even more delicate and complex.
We are heartbroken. No one could have imagined that a holiday would turn into a life-threatening medical emergency with every day feeling uncertain.
Because of how unwell he is, he cannot travel on a commercial flight. With the current airspace restrictions due to the ongoing war the cost of arranging a specialist air ambulance with a full critical care medical team on board has become incredibly high. This is the only safe way to bring him home.
The expense of an emergency transfer from Dubai to the UK is far beyond anything our family could ever have anticipated. Sadly, he did not have travel insurance, and the financial burden, on top of the emotional strain, has been overwhelming for us all.
Watching someone you love fight for their life in another country is a pain we cannot put into words. We feel helpless being so far from home, but we are doing everything we can to bring him back.
From the bottom of our hearts, we ask for any donations big or small. Every donation will go directly toward the costs of a medical repatriation. Regardless if you are able to contribute or not, please share this page and keep him in your prayers.
Thank you for taking the time to read Khon’s story, for your kindness, generosity, and prayers during this devastating time.
your support means more than we can ever express. We will continue to update this page.
Thank you
