Hey! My name is Kayleen Packard and I am from a little town called Vestal in Upstate NY. This year I have been accepted into a highly selective music program. The program is called A Capella Academy in Los Angeles, California where young vocalists worldwide have the opportunity to perform, and build skills with other talented students and teachers.

I have had a monumental passion for music and singing since I was very little with videos of me as young as 3 or 4 singing to my audience - stuffed animals - in a full production of whatever song had popped into my head in that moment. I began writing songs at 8 years old when I got my - self designated - first "song book" and performed it a year later with my elementary school music teacher (all love to her and every music teacher I have ever had who have encouraged me to get here!) After that it was an upward spiral of musical theatre performances, choir shows, voice lessons, YouTube videos, TikTok videos, Open Mics across the North East, and Street Performances. I also plan on majoring in Vocal Performance in college and this would be super helpful and a great learning experience for me!

With this amazing opportunity, a cost does come with it, considering tuition, airfare and airport to campus and back to airport transport that I will not be able to fully cover by myself. Every penny goes straight to this opportunity and extra money will be used to keep me steady as I am far from home or on any other musical opportunities that may come my way.
