My sisters and I want to share an update about our mom, Kathie.

On December 26th, she was in a serious six-car accident (no fault of her own) that left her with a fractured foot, a fractured femur, and the need for a blood transfusion and regular oxygen while hospitalized.

After spending over three weeks in the hospital and a skilled nursing facility, I'm so grateful to say she finally made it back home on January 18th.

But even though she's home, she can't leave without a transport service. (If you don’t know, she has been a paraplegic since 1986 due to a spinal tumor)

Her wheelchair-accessible van is totaled, and the insurance payout from the underinsured motorist won't come close to covering a replacement for her.

A new or used van with a lift and hand controls can cost between $60k and $80k.

Our mom has always been incredibly independent. It breaks our hearts to see her stuck at home without a van. She has given so much of herself to others in the community, and now we're asking for help.
