Well 2026 has been off to a ruff start for Kali. While playing fetch in the backyard with her brother, Pabst, Kali had let out a sudden yelp and afterwards showed clear signs of pain with her back left leg. After a prompt vet visit and a Veterinary Orthopedic consult later, we determined that Kali had completely torn her CCL (doggie ACL) in her back left leg. And, I’m proceeding forward with surgery on Feb. 11th so that she can move properly again. It’s kind of like that scene from Family Guy where Peter’s tropical fish threw money at the doctor, and said “I don’t care what it costs, just make him well again.” That about sums up my feelings of the situation. That being said, the cost of the surgery is estimated to be over $5,000. Trust me when I say that I involuntarily responded with “damn!” when the doctor told me the price. So, I’m asking for some help to get through this current situation. Anything is appreciated and everything raised will go towards making sure Kali gets better.
