I spent 5 weeks at Rogers Memorial Hospital in November and December of last year being treated for severe malnutrition and making progress on my anxiety, depression and food issues.

However, when I returned home from that hospital stay I discovered that my former employer had cut off my COBRA insurance the very day I entered the hospital, leaving me responsible for a $75,000 bill. The insurance company had kept accepting the bill for some reason, so I had no way of knowing I was uninsured.
Dealing with the sudden crushing debt has made working on my immeadiate medical needs less of a priority and as a result things have gotten worse to the point where I need to be hospitalized for at least 2 months.
$5,000 would cover my rent and bills for the 2 months I’m away and allow me to focus on recovery, but every dollar helps pay for outpatient treatment, medication, supplements and food.
