My son Josh is 20 and a Full time double major college student. For the Last 7 years he has endured multiple facial and oral surgeries to repair and rebuild his Jaw after a Traumatic sports accident. He has not once complained. He not only just dealt with pain he rolled with the flow as it came. Not only did this happen he developed alopecia and lost his hair. He went through all of his teenage years missing teeth and hair. It didnt break his smile. It made him the loved by many young man he is today. It has to date cost aprox 17k in medical bills out of pocket for his surgeries as not all of it was covered. We are now surprised with an additional 3k procedure to bridge him to the finish line.

Life is hard at times and this single mom has done it all without asking for help. I have hit financial hardships many times raising my kids by myself but I figured it out or I went without so my kids wouldnt. I am stubborn and fiercely independant and have always had a mindset of do it for myself all while doing and helping others. I was urged in the past to do this and I always replied with NO. I will figure it out. Life has a way of teaching lessons we didnt realize we needed. I am humble always have been but its ok to accept help is something that took me 49 yrs to learn.. In February I suffered a cervical injury involving major nerve roots and deviating my cord to the right. I Never thought I would not be back to work by now . For the next three months , I am going to be put in a position to choose between my sons necessary procedure and finishing his surgeries and everyday bills and my medical costs . I cannot do all three at this time being out of work. And I cannot choose against my child. I Am swallowing my pride and asking for a little help to get Joshua to the finish line. When all is done and as soon as I can I will pay it forward 100%. And you all know I believe strongly in paying it forward .
