Dear friends,
For the past year my son and his family--his wife, Che, and young sons, Darwin and Wren--have been stranded in the Philippines under extreme lockdown, unable to leave the house but for groceries--a real trapped overseas Covid story.
Three years ago, Jed got a position teaching science in China. That second year, because it became necessary for Che to be in hospital for a high risk pregnancy, they moved to stay with her parents outside Manila. Jed got a job teaching remotely with his Moroccan school. Then Covid hit.
Now, over a year later, and still residing with her parents in yet another extreme lockdown (detainment if found out on the streets) in a country seeing a rapid rise in Covid, this present living situation has become untenable. Any money they were attempting to save went towards several dental and medical emergencies, including the caesarean.
It is difficult to maintain faith in the midst of one crises after another. It has become crucial to act on their behalf. We are requesting your help in getting Jed's family back to the States where they can make a fresh start. We have housing and a part time job available once they get here.
Thank you for any help you can give towards getting this family home.
