Hello, my husband Donato Amore and I went to Greece for a wedding, a very joyous celebration, which did not turn out as we expected. Early morning of July 26th, a day before the celebration he was going up the stairs when suddenly he fell backwards hitting his head, and it it took the ambulance 43 minutes to arrive.

Being in Greece not speaking the language and unfamiliar with the system, has complicated matters.

His condition is very critical, he had a brain hemorrhage; therefore, an induced coma was necessary. A few days later CTscans showed he has Brain Tissue Ischemia in 3 sections of the brain (left, right, front) side of the brain. He was on a ventilator machine for 14 days as he was unable to breathe on his own.

A tracheotomy procedure was necessary which was performed 20 days later. He continues to use the ventilator as the condition has not fully improved. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit until the doctors determine he is medically stable; . only then will he be able to return home using an Air Ambulance.

In the meantime, I remain in Greece with the support of my sister. Every day is a challenge, we hope , we pray we can get him home.
