Hi my name is Kathy . I am a personal care assistant along with my colleague Lorraine to the most amazing guy who sadly has MND.
Gary was diagnosed with this cruel disease 7 years ago. Apart from providing personal care to Gary our role also involves twice weekly social activities which has us doing a variety of things.
In 2016 a wheelchair accessible vehicle was donated to Gary which has enabled him to enjoy as near normal life as is possible with this cruel illness.
As invaluable as this vehicle has been it is now time to look to source a replacement as the current vehicle is beyond economical repair. Our aim is to fundraise to purchase a newer vehicle which can be passed onto another user when it is no longer of use to Gary.
Our target is £3,000- this mammoth amount is for the purchase and maintenance of the vehicle. To get this fundraising effort off the ground I am volunteering to do a sponsored head-shave...
