Dear friends,

I am Amando, head of the Ghana Lions - an Aston Villa fan group from Juaben, Ghana, a village of 10,000 where over half of us support the club.

Despite our passion going back half a century, when Englishmen from Birmingham came to live in our village and spread the love, particularly to my grandfather – who they inspired with their tales and who has since inspired us, we have never been to Villa Park for a game. Now that the club is back in Europe, we have a dream to watch our heroes – and hope you can help us achieve it.

Having formed Aston Villa boys and girls football teams in Juaben, I have also, for many years, led the Ghana Lions – a group that marches every week through the village singing songs about our beloved Villa. My hope is that any generous contributions can help as many of us as possible receive the chance of a lifetime - to visit Villa Park for a game next season!
