Update: I will receive George’s remains on Monday Oct 6.
A Pagan service will be held Sunday Oct 2pm at the VFW in Fair Oaks, CA.
- I am planning, either Family’s approval, to have military honors and perhaps another gathering for George later in the year. I will be working with the VA in Dixon and The Neptune Society… which is a full-service Funerary, not just for burials at sea.
More on this later. Please donate if you can.
I wrote this one week ago.
Today, when I called George, his phone went right to VM.
On the 4th try, Dave, Char's son, answered, and told me "It is not good."
I already knew.
George turned 79 and he left this world on Autumn Equinox evening, the 22nd.
Yesterday, I read read him the list of everybody who gave him money, each time he said 'Oh! WOW."
I will return the money if you ask. If you want to continue to help George with his final preparations, that would also be appreciated.
I am planning a memorial at Pagan Pride the weekend of Oct 4/5.
Iwill have an altar set up, and have asked that the give us a time to talk about George during the Speaker times. Let me know if you want to say a few words.
Below:
This is my original reason for starting the GoFundMe.
My name is Susan Langley, today is my birthday….and I want to talk to you about George Taylor.
What we all used to do on my birthday is go out to eat at the spaghetti factory.
This picture was taken a couple years ago… Shar is no longer with us and George is in dire needs of help.
He is stuck in Breckenridge, Texas.
Shar died earlier this year after a long illness….everything was in her name, including The mobile home they lived in.
They were not married, but they lived together for 45 years.
Her family moved George to Texas. He’s not in good health.
Georg’s sister Susie lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa who wants him to come out and live there.
Breckenridge, Texas has no airports and most of all no metaphysical stores anywhere.
I want to help George get out of there and with your help we might be able to do that.
This GoFundMe is to get George out of Texas.
If you would like to help me, that would be great.
Because there are no direct flights to Breckenridge Texas, it might be a bit of a challenge to get there.
George broke his back and has emphysema.
He can walk but he cannot carry or lift.
He has a car that runs well, but he shouldn’t be driving.
Anybody who knows George knows he’s a wonderful human being, he’s a Vietnam vet, but most of all he’s my dear friend, and I don’t want him to die in Texas .
Also, it’s his birthday on the 22. He’s going to be 79.
I would like him to be in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the town he was born in, way before he’s 80.
His sister will be waiting for him in Cedar Rapids whenever he gets there.
But time is of the essence, so let’s not take too long with this. I’d like to get him home before the end of October.
George has always been here for our entire community so let’s be here for him. Thank you everybody…. anything you could spare would be great and George knows that we’re doing this and he’s on board, although you know he has that sheepish look in his eyes.
