Get GB’s Deaf Men & Women Football Teams To The Deaflympics
As you may have already seen in the media, Great Britain’s men’s and women’s football teams have qualified for the 2025 Deaflympics in November in Tokyo, which is awesome. However - their biggest hurdle to overcome is that they get ZERO FUNDING from the government or any sporting governing bodies. This means that they need to raise around £300,000 just to take part.
This breaks down as follows:
£180,000 will go towards covering the essential costs of participation in the Deaflympics, including travel, accommodation, and competition fees. This will allow both the men's and women’s teams to represent DeaflympicsGB with pride and compete at the highest level.
In addition, £120,000 is required to fund vital training camps, purchase kit, provide nutrition, cover administrative costs, and buy equipment. These investments are key to preparing our athletes for success and ensuring they have everything they need to perform at their best.
Alongside their own fundraising efforts, I’m trying to help as well, and it would be great if my awesome followers could help reach their current short-term target of £64,000 to cover deposits for their accommodation at the tournament.
Whatever you do, please don’t forget to GIFT AID your donations as that’s a 25% boost for no extra expense or effort on your part.
Thanks for your help, as always. Links and more info are below!
