My name is Gavin. I am a current student athlete at the University of Western Ontario, and I recently competed at the Canadian Olympic Team Trials in Greco-Roman Wrestling and won. Winning that tournament means I am competing at the Pan American Qualifiers to try to qualify for the 2024 Olympics. Wrestling Canada only offers funding for freestyle athletes - if I want to compete at this next level, I will be completely self funded. This includes training camps, accommodation, travel costs and entry fees for the upcoming February tournament in Mexico.
