Get Gavin Braces

Gavin has inherited my (physically) very small mouth. Its so small there are no room for his teeth, which not only will cause them to be destroyed early, but has led to all kinds of difficulty with eating already.  His orthodontist says his options are to wear an expander to give his teeth room, or to have 4 of them removed.  For a kid who has never even had a cavity to lose 4 teeth at 11 years old seems a little insane.  The insurance company is covering his braces, but not the expander, which is 1450$.  They are offering me a payment plan, as my credit rehab prevents me from taking a care credit loan, but I need to have the down payment before they will take the xrays to make the spacer. 

Gavin is an awesome kid.  Brilliant imagination, budding youtube career, and a smile that lights up the whole world.  He is terrified of the dentist, because his mouth always hurts... but he's willing to brave the expander to save his teeth.  Cuz he's amazing like that. 

Anything anyone can contribute would be great.   If somehow there's any extra, it'll go to "bravery" and "care" rewards, since he's going to have to be really committed for the next 2 or more years.
