This GoFundMe is to provide relief for Galina Isayeva’s family for her safe return home.
On April 28th 2021, our beloved Galka suddenly passed away, at the young and vibrant age of 53, while vacationing in the Dominican Republic. Now, her family is going above and beyond to get her back home quickly and safely.
Galya was a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, and a loyal friend to many. She loved living life to the fullest and surrounding herself with her loved ones. Galya enjoyed gardening, cooking, and making her infamous home-made Bobruisk Jams. She loved and found beauty in everything around her— starting from her home, reaching to the ends of the world. She will be immensely missed by many especially her loving husband and daughter.
There are no words to describe the devastation that Galya’s family is feeling. These funds will be allocated to; her air transportation, legal fees, and funeral costs.

5/1 UPDATE:
Thank you everyone for your overwhelming support! This is love and community at work— and we are so thankful. We're still working with authorities from the US Embassy to bring Galya back and will be posting updates as they come. We are still in the process of deciding a funeral date. It will be updated on here as well as posted on Facebook.
5/7 UPDATE:
We are still working with the local Dominican Republic government and the US Embassy to get Galya’s body back home, this has proven to be a very difficult, exhausting, and emotional process. The pain is unbearable but with relentless help and the overwhelming support from our family, friends, and the community— we will get Galya’s body back and lay her to rest.
5/14 UPDATE:
Galya landed safely in Chicago yesterday evening. We plan on having the funeral Sunday morning (5/16). Please reach out to the family with any questions.
