Doing FranLab on YouTube is my full time job, but my personal healthcare costs are killing my finances. FranLab is 100% viewer supported, but it was never intended to take care of my mounting medical expenses, and the cost of dealing with my personal health issues has become an increasingly serious burden on FranLab to the point were I must try to reach out for some side-support to cover these growing costs. The health care law in the US was never in favor of self employed people, and with the loss of any subsidy I am really not able to afford health insurance anymore. To keep basic health insurance this year would cost me over $16,000 but the deductibles and the out of pocket expenses for specialists and things I really need that are not covered have already been adding up. I am not really sure what I will do, but I am certain that without specific financial backing just for my healthcare I really will not be able to afford anything.

As was the case last year, rent and healthcare cost increases this year have caused a financial crunch that means I have to choose between keeping FranLab running or having healthcare - but I can't afford both.

If I can get enough support in this very personal area then the burden will be lifted off of the Patrons who intend for their funds to go to making content for the FranLab channel, as it should be.
