Hi everyone,

I’m fundraising for my friend Forest, a severely disabled person who urgently needs help relocating from Canada to the UK to reach safety and appropriate medical care. Their friends/ chosen family in the UK are making plans to help support and care for them - we can’t do this from so far away!

Forest has multiple disabilities that significantly limit their mobility and daily functioning. Over the past few months, their health has rapidly declined, and they were repeatedly dismissed by doctors until they were hospitalized after being found unconscious. During this time, Forest was abandoned by their carer and left without safe housing or support.

Since being discharged from hospital at the end of December, Forest has had no stable or accessible place to live. Shelters are unable to accommodate their physical needs, and their health has continued to worsen due to lack of care, food, and access to essential medication.

Forest is currently in a motel through emergency funding, but this is temporary, and can only be extended until the end of March. Without help, they will be back on the street despite being physically unable to mobilise.

The UK offers Forest a chance at stability, medical care, and support that they have not been able to access in Canada. This move is essential for their safety and survival.
