Life can change incredibly fast, sometimes in ways we never expected.
We’ve made the difficult decision to move back to Australia for many reasons. As you can imagine, the logistics and costs of an international move on a low income family are overwhelming, especially when it comes to bringing our beloved dog, Fezzik.
We’ve managed to cover a good portion of his relocation costs, but to ease some of the financial strain during an already stressful time, we’re reaching out for help.
This isn’t something I do lightly. In fact, I feel almost guilty asking, because let’s be honest… the world is a mess, and there are so many other deserving causes. If this gives you the ick, I completely understand.
Leaving Fezzik behind isn’t an option for us. After a year of covering two surgeries for myself, our savings have taken a serious hit. I’ve experienced firsthand the heartbreak of leaving a pet behind when I moved overseas as a teenager.
Fezzik is family. He loves us, and we love him. The kids need him as much as I do. There’s something truly special about the bond between a dog and a neurodivergent child, the way they bring instant calm to an overstimulated situation is nothing short of magic.
I know this is a privileged request, the irony isn’t lost on me. Saying “we have no money” while planning an international move with a pet feels like an oxymoron. But some things are non-negotiable, and for us, Fezzik is one of them in fact we are flying budget airline’s home and unlikely to bring much stuff, so that we can afford him.
So, here I am, asking for help. As a thank you, I’d love to create some art for your family. And in the sweetest gesture, Quinn the gorgeous one, has offered to sell some of his artwork to help bring Fezzik home. ❤️
