Get Fatima urgent teeth extraction surgery
Donation protected
Hi my name is Jess, and Fatima could really use your help - she is poorly with an infection in her teeth and is in urgent need of extraction surgery!
Fatima, or Fatimari as I often call her, is a real sweetheart. A free spirit, a little sassy at times, but the sweetest soul nevertheless. I've taken her under my wing over the last couple years. When she found her way to me, she wasn't in the best of ways. I found out that various neighbours had been putting food out for her but she had nowhere to go. Although neglected, and wary of humans; all she wanted was some love and affection.
Once she finally warmed to me, all she wanted to do was cuddle and be near me whenever I was in the garden but it took far longer before she was comfortable enough to even think about coming inside.
We built her an insulated hut of her own, fit with a bed and a cozy igloo and lots of blankets in the winter months, and of course, the option to come indoors and go as she pleases, (everything is very much on her terms!!).
I have always done the best I can for her, and have got her looking healthy and happy and give her a lifestyle that caters to her complicated needs; but I always knew that should there be a day where she got sick, I would have to give her up.
This has always been worse case scenario for me; her fear of feet/shoes and being trapped indoors speaks volumes. She has clearly has a rough start in life; hence her decision to run away.
However, now she is sick and a consultation at the RSPCA clinic has confirmed that she will need to undergo surgery. For now, we are treating her infection and getting her healthy enough to undergo this operation - but I am unable to pay the quoted price.
The thought of having to hand her over and her be held enclosed in a shelter is worrying since I know the stress this would cause her.
Although there's no way to be sure of her age, we predict she is between 10-12 years old, and given her complex character, I'd hate for her to spend the rest of her days in a shelter. Especially when she is so content here with us.
Since she has been poorly, she is now spending almost all her time indoors and we a prepared to actively encourage her to come indoors more, going forwards.
Her freedom and choice is really a priority given her nature. If you were kind enough to donate to Fatima, you would enable her to live the life she is happy with.
Please help us give Fatima a chance at continuing the life she is comfortable with, alongside the people she is so familiar with and know her so well. Any amount would be so gratefully received and help us!
The target funds are based on an estimate from the clinic, which could be more or less. All donations made will help pay for her treatment; should there be any funds left over, we will donate them to the RSPCA clinic to help others in our position.
Thank you for taking the time to read, we hope you can help.
