I’m raising money for my daughter so she can get her car back and keep getting to work and school. She works two jobs, goes to college three days a week, and DoorDashes in her spare time to help make ends meet. She bought a car in May, and even after having a pre-inspection done, it needed a new engine by the start of August.

Her car has been in the shop for about three weeks, and the engine work has already been done. The problem is that she has not been able to save enough to pay the bill and get the car released. This has been such a hard setback after everything she is already doing to support herself and stay in school.

Right now, the transportation situation is affecting all of us every day. My daughter and I were sharing my car until mine broke down too. Now we are trying to share my son’s 26-year-old Ford Ranger. Getting her to both jobs and to class has been difficult, and having to use Uber and Lyft only sets her back even further financially.

The money raised will go directly toward the engine work that has already been completed so she can get her car back. Having reliable transportation again would make a real difference for her and help her keep up with work, school, and the responsibilities she is carrying. Ideally, she needs the car back within the next two weeks, and I honestly do not know how long the shop will hold it.
