Get England to the World Slam Championships in Mexico

Hi, My name's Sven Stears, and I'm the English National Slam Poetry Champion.

In December I took part in the European Slam Poetry Championships, coming second out of the 32 nations taking part, and earning my place at the World Slam Championships in Mexico.

We were all set to travel to Juarez in May, and represent England - A country with a strong lineage of Poetry. Shakespeare, to Stormzy, lyricism defines the arts in England. We're expressive and eloquent painting worlds in pages and handing them down the ages. It's in our blood.

We were set to continue our grand tradition, when disaster struck. The Mexican organisers have had funding pulled due to various international political difficulties - but as the saying goes, the show *must* go on.

You can help the show go on. We need to raise a small amount of money to get to Mexico. To make sure England is represented, and give us a chance at the international title. Please, give as much as you can, wether it's a quid or a coffee's worth. If 150 peple give £10, thats enough to see us through and there. To give us the opportunity we need to bring the trophy home.

We need to buy flights, and make sure the contingent is safe while there. Those costs add up, Mexico is very far away. If you help us raise the funds, we'll raise the roof, and do all we can to bring that title home with us. You're assistance will 100% go on making sure we can travel to mexico, with some in reserve as emergency money, and should we raise more than needed, it will be kept for future slammers in years to come.
