Get Ellie to the Vancouver Fringe Festival 2022!

Hello, friends from everywhere!
I am so grateful you are here.
Last year I premiered my second one-woman show, 'The Way They Came'. It was the true story of how close my third baby and I came to death, and a deeply personal account of my journey as a mother, and the chaos that ensued in my life with the arrival of an unplanned pregnancy. I worked with my dear friend and collaborator Bessie Wapp, and in a tiny space of time, we got the show up on its legs and shared it with masked audiences in a beautiful and intimate local yoga studio. I was terrified. Yet, the community showed up, the support I received was incredible. All my shows sold out, and I received rave reviews from peers and strangers alike.

I could not have afforded to produce the show, hire a director, buy lights, rent space, print posters, or anything - without the generous financial support of friends who chose to support my show with donations. I was blown away that people believed enough in me to donate to a show that didn't exist yet.
I have since toured the show around the Kootenays, and in the search for 'what next?' I have an exciting new opportunity. The show was accepted to the Vancouver Fringe Festival 2022! And now, I ask for your continued support to help get me there and make this exciting venture a success.

This is a pretty big deal. I will get to share my story with audiences from far and wide (hopefully...but I have to get them in the door!) Based on my own sense and the feedback I have received, I truly believe that this is an essential piece of theatre, with the power to entertain, provoke laughter and tears, and even help heal traumas and old feelings of loss and inadequacy around birth and motherhood. I think birth needs more time and space in our culture, and this show is one way to start conversations.
Why I need YOU
It's going to take a chunk of change to pay the Festival Fees, get myself and my family to Vancouver, and put a roof over our head and food in our bellies for the festival's duration. Add promotional costs such as ads and hand bills/fliers to this. - because what's the point of going to all the effort to get to the festival if no one sees it? As a Fringe newbie, I understand that it's essential to have promo materials and get them out there early.

If you can spare a few dollars, THANK YOU! You have no idea what this opportunity means to me. Click the Donate Now button on the right, and please share this campaign with friends who would appreciate my message

Sending you all huge hugs
