Thank you for being here. This is Elise's husband. Many of you donated two years ago to help her get a tethered cord surgery, which was completed. We were then going to proceed for this fusion but postponed. And now its time, we have more answers understanding her genetic condition (Ehlers Danlos) and we are needing your help to get Elise these life changing surgeries. We’re at an extremely pivotal and emotional time in our lives. Watching Elise experience this pain and slowly decline every day has been completely heart-wrenching to say the least… and now we've found MORE answers and we have hope. We've still got a fight ahead of us but with your help lifting this enormous weight we’ll be able to get these surgeries she needs in October to improve her condition and quality of life.

She'll be getting surgery for:

Jugular Vein Decompression

and then

a fusion from C0 - C2 (maybe C-3) for CranioCervical Instability (CCI)

In early 2020, Elise started experiencing severe pain in her low back and legs that would make her shake in her sleep and its gotten worse. At this point she is unable to be out of bed for about 95% of her waking hours because of the constant 8-10 level pain and MYRIAD of other symptoms including seizures. Because of all these hardships she also has very little autonomy.

It's been an unbelievably long journey of seeing doctors and trying different therapies. And now we've arrived here. Our specialist doctors who deal with EDS patients feel that these procedures are essential and they are optimistic that these surgeries will really improve Elise's condition and quality of life. The Jugular Vein decompression will increase blood flow to her brain and liberate pinched nerves, and the fusion will stabilize the vertebrae from also impinging vital processes like compressing the brain stem and nearby nerves that are causing a lot of her autonomic nervous system issues and other problems. Neck Pain

Arm and Hand Pain

Heart condition - Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)

Because of her rare genetic condition, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, this has to be done by very specialized surgeons and is being done out of state (New york) which causes challenges with insurance. But with your help, we will be able to get Elise in for surgery in October, then in November.
