Elias did it again!

He qualified for the second time for the CrossFit Games, this time with a 5th place finish in the Age Group Online Qualifiers (final qualification stage for the Games - only the Top20 qualify). Due to COVID-19 restrictions it is not easy to enter the United States and the application for NIEs (National Interest Exemption) have been declined. The only option remaining for Elias and his family is to travel to a country that is NOT affected by a Presidential Proclamation and quarantine there for 14 days before traveling directly to the United States. As going to the Games is already quite a financial burden by itself, this additional cost of quarantine for 14 days will further exceed the costs from his last Games visit.

Please help us get Elias to the CrossFit Games again.


Elias hat es wieder geschafft!

Er hat sich zum zweiten Mal für die CrossFit Games qualifiziert, diesmal mit einem 5. Platz bei den Age Group Online Qualifiers (letzte Qualifikationsrunde für die Games - nur die Top20 qualifizieren sich). Aufgrund der COVID-19-Beschränkungen ist es nicht einfach, in die Vereinigten Staaten einzureisen, und der Antrag auf NIEs (National Interest Exemption) wurde abgelehnt. Die einzige Möglichkeit, die Elias und seiner Familie bleibt, ist, in ein Land zu reisen, das NICHT von einer Presidential Proclamation betroffen ist, und dort 14 Tage in Quarantäne zu gehen, bevor sie direkt in die USA einreisen können. Da die Reise zu den Games an sich schon eine ziemliche finanzielle Belastung ist, werden diese zusätzlichen Kosten für die 14-tägige Quarantäne die Kosten von seinem letzten Games-Besuch noch übersteigen.

Bitte helft uns, Elias wieder zu den CrossFit Games zu bringen.



UPDATE (2.7.2021): Thank you all for your kind and generous support, Elias is blown away by everyone’s contribution. There has been an update from CrossFit that are potentially able to secure a Travel Waiver from the Department of Homeland Security. The respective forms have been handed in and background checks will now be carried out. Due to the tight timing of everything, the documents will need to be finalised by the DHS this coming Tuesday otherwise (as it isn’t a hundred percent guaranteed yet that they will arrive in time) Elias and his mother will still need to fly to an allowed country for 14-days before being able to enter the US. As the trip is already expensive as it is and even without the additional costs of a 14-day stay in another country Elias’ family is so thankful for all your generosity.


UPDATE (2.7.2021): Vielen Dank an alle für eure großzügige Unterstützung, Elias ist von den Spenden aller überwältigt. Es gab ein Update von CrossFit, die möglicherweise in der Lage sind, einen Travel Waiver vom Department of Homeland Security zu erhalten. Die entsprechenden Formulare wurden eingereicht und es werden nun Hintergrundüberprüfungen durchgeführt. Aufgrund des engen Zeitplans müssen die Dokumente bis kommenden Dienstag fertiggestellt sein, da es aber noch nicht hundertprozentig sicher ist, dass sie bis dahin auch ausstellen werden können, besteht noch immer die Möglichkeit, dass Elias und seine Mutter für 14 Tage in ein „zulässiges“ Land fliegen müssen, bevor sie in die USA einreisen können. Da die Reise ohnehin schon teuer ist, auch ohne die zusätzlichen Kosten für einen 14-tägigen Aufenthalt in einem anderen Land, ist Elias' Familie sehr dankbar für eure unglaubliche Großzügigkeit.
