Augustin aka @DUFC_es lives in Argentina and, for some reason, is besotted with Dundee United.
We are raising money to get him over for a game (preferably a derby game). If you could chip in with whatever you can afford, I'm sure we'll reach our goal in no time and get the Argentinian Arab to Scotland to sample the amazing atmosphere of a derby.
We truly are the World Famous DUFC!
A little update....
I've been trying to withdraw the funds from this campaign in order that I can forward the money onto the Dundee United Community Trust, who have agreed to take it and then pay for Augustin's travel and accommodation during his stay in Dundee.
I set up withdrawals around 3 weeks ago but GoFundMe kept delaying and changing the withdrawal arrival date, so much so that I threatened them with Trading Standards. I now have to add the following to this "story" in order to receive the money:
1. I know Augustin through Twitter and our mutual love for Dundee United Football Club. We have communicated many times via Twitter both before and after the campaign. This campaign was created to allow fellow DUFC fans to donate money to allow Augustin to come to Dundee and fulfill his dream of seeing Dundee United play in person.
2. As stated before, the money will be withdrawn into my own personal bank account and then forwarded onto the Dundee United Community Trust who will then allocate funds to pay Augustin's travel and accommodation costs.
3. Augustin won't see any of the actual funds but will benefit from the travel and accommodation that will be paid for by the money so generously donated to this campaign.
I hope this appeases GoFundMe and we can finally get Augutin over here! (COVID-19 permitting of course)
