Get Don Moving

Donation protected

I've been told that I should start a Go Fund Me Page, but the truth is, it feels weird to ask people for money. However, I would do anything for my husband. He is my best friend, literally, my other half.

Since Feb 2020 Don has had two emergency surgeries one for a severe compressed spine and another for an infection in his knee that was septic. He has had setback after setback for a number of reasons, human error for one.  On top of all of this he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. He has been in a skilled nursing facility for 6 months and I have done my very best to be his health advocate. It has been so difficult. The Covid Virus has made it more so. It has been horrible not being able to be there, see him ect. except through glass once in awhile.  Since Don was diagnosed with Parkinson's he has not been able to see a Neurologist for follow up or to see what treatments or options are available to him.  Recently I got a hurtful message from Don's physical therapist there, that she is recommending that he be discharged from the therapies he has been  receiving.  To me this is a death sentence. Anyone that knows even a fraction about Parkinson's knows how important physical therapy is! I want to bring Don home. I want to give him the chance that the so called medical people he is around don't want to give him. I am working toward that goal by securing a better living situation ( we have been living in a RV for two+ years) that will make life workable and easier.
In any case I know this will be a hard task.  I'm not sure how much care Don needs at the moment. I know we will need home health care etc.

So... the reason I am creating a page. I recently saw a piece of equipment made for people with MS, Parkinson's and other similar diseases and issues.

it's called a Theracycle. It is made in such a way that when a person with Parkinson's "freezes" it will continue moving them. It's an expensive piece of equipment, $6,000 dollars.  It makes perfect sense to me and I feel every physical therapy hospital/establishment should have one. I would like to have this ready and set up for Don when he comes home (maybe a few weeks still) So middle or end of Sept.

Here is the link showing the Theracycle and the infomation about it

I am not the best writer in the world and the hardest part of creating this page is trying to condense this story.  I'm just someone that loves her husband and wants to give him every opportunity (with God's help) and a fighting chance to get better. What that looks like right now is a huge unknown.
